Great Experience

Being a leader is a very challenging position, many people look up to you. They ask you questions that you might not know the answer to 90% of the time. Things pop up that can make your plans change. Being a leader you need to learn to be flexible. That’s what I have learned this past year being Ritual Chair and Assitant for VPP.

This past Sunday, I was in charge of a little road trip that we do every year. It’s a great experience for the pms. They get see how much the older members love and how faithful they are to this Faternity. The pms had a great time learning and seeing history of Kappa Kappa Psi come alive.

At first, I thought this road trip wasn’t going to be that hard to plan. Maybe after the first couple of minutes trying to plan, I learned that it’s very difficult. There were many things that I forgot about for the previous years and some things that we had to change. But, with the help from my brothers and the alumni, this trip was a great success.

Of course, I have to connect this with the Marine Corps. I mention this before in another article, so just go with me on this. There is a phrase that the Marines like to yell and chant.  It goes “SEMPER FI DO OR DIE!”. I want to connect this to you and your chapter. This phrase basically means, if you and your chapter are faithful, you will do many great things and go far. But, if you lack and are not faithful, the brotherhood will die and so will the chapter. When the brotherhood goes, the chapter will flow. Just remember the phrase. It doesn’t have to be a Marine Corps thing, it can be for anything that you do in life. Be a good brother, be faithful.
